SITS är som förening ansluten till International Association of Communication Sciences and Disorders (IALP)

SITS är som förening ansluten till IALP – International Association of Communication Sciences and Disorders. I mars 2020 bytte IALP sitt ”handelsnamn” från The International Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics till International Association of Communication Sciences and Disorders, men behåller IALP som sitt juridiska namn.

IALP är en världsvid organisation som arbetar för förbättrad vård av människor som har svårigheter med tal, språk, röst, sväljning och hörsel. Organisationen, som är opolitisk och icke-kommersiell, har funnits sedan 1924. Sammantaget är 125.000 medlemmar anslutna via de 56  nationella föreningarna från 38 olika länder. IALP har informationsstatus hos UNESCO, UNICEF, WHO, ECOSOC och CIOMS.

IALP has a global vision to facilitate better understanding, knowledge and care of all those with communication and swallowing disorders.

The mission of IALP is to improve the quality of life of individuals with disorders of communication, speech, language, voice, hearing and swallowing.

IALP will:

1. Facilitate science, education and clinical practice through international cooperation and collaboration;
2. create and share knowledge, skills and information;
3. provide a platform for international networking and advocacy.
